1 John 4:20

If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot love God whom he has not seen.

I have noticed that there are so many people who neglect to love their brother or sister when there is conflict between them.  But if you notice this verse, loving your brother/sister is not conditional.  It doesn't say love them only when you get along with them.  It doesn't say love them only when they are nice to you.  John is saying love your brother/sister because you say you love God.  Your love is dependent on your testimony of loving God.

It's so sad when I see brothers and sisters get into conflict with one another and treat each other unkindly and unlovingly.  They treat each other like they are enemies.  We need to be consistent.  We need to let our testimony be aligned with our action even when it's hard.

Matthew 3:11

"I baptize you with wather for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worth to carry."

John saw Christ so worthy that even His sandals is so great.  How sad it is that nowadays we do not see Christ that way.  We use His name in vain, we put Him on t-shirts and say He is our homeboy...we even make pottery of Him playing sports.  Christ is God's Son, our Savior, God Himself.  We should bow down before Him and stand in awe of Him rather than just seeing Him just like us.

1 John 2:3-6

And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

in this century many people will claim to be a "christian" but many of these people do not live according to Scripture.  It's sad how the word "christian" is being dragged through the mud and letting others have a wrong and wicked perspective of "christians."  People must understand that to be a believer, one must not only say and profess to be a christian...one must live it out.  One must live according to His commandments even if they do not want to.  One must have integrity to have a life that is blameless.  But unfortunately so many people do not see or understand this.

Who among the gods is like you, O Lord?  Who is like you -- majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? Exodus 15:11

How we tend to forget that our God is an awesome God.  Nothing can compare to Him and yet we do when we make other things our god.  We sin against Him so easily because we want something that we shouldn't want.  We put rubbish things before Him thinking they will give us more satisfaction than Him.  Yet the Bible tells us and shows us that nothing can compare with God, nothing and no one is like Him.  Christians must remember this and live their lives with this mentality.  He is awesome in glory, He is majestic in holiness!!! Oh I pray that I live my life that fully see God for who He truly is and I see other things as rubbish!!!!

A new year has come, a new year where God can use me to display His glory, and a new year where others may see Christ.  God has blessed me with this a new year and I wonder how am I going to glorify Him in this year.  Will I be able to say I was faithful at the end of the year?  I pray that I do; I pray that I display His glory to the fullest.  I pray that we as believers strive to do that with all our passions.
